What is superconductivity?

To achieve this state, materials must be cooled to an extremely low “critical temperature.” Early superconductors required near-absolute zero (-273.15℃), which was prohibitively costly. Later, “high-temperature superconductors”(HTS) that operate at higher temperatures, such as liquid nitrogen temperature (-196℃), were discovered, drastically reducing cooling costs and enabling broader practical applications.
